Welcome to the Department of Communicative Sciences and Disorders



Our Department is nationally recognized for its distinguished faculty and excellent students.
We offer academic programs leading to the Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) and Master of Arts (M.A.). Our master's degree program in speech-language pathology is highly regarded and is accredited by the Council on Academic Accreditation of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association.

We have an extensive network of off-campus clinical practicum placement sites for student training.

Faculty members in the Department of Communicative Sciences and Disorders have a range of interests in communication sciences and disorders. Their specialty areas include: speech-language acquisition, voice disorders, aphasia, closed head injury, dialectical differences, fluency, speech and hearing physiology, augmentative and alternative communication, psychoacoustics, speech perception, and diagnostic and rehabilitative audiology.

Students in all of our degree programs receive diverse opportunities to learn in the classroom, in the laboratory, and in clinic practice.
