Applying to
Communicative Sciences and Disorders at MSU
All applicants seeking admission to Michigan State University's Graduate Program in Communicative Sciences and Disorders must apply electronically through both MSU's Graduate School and Communication Sciences and Disorders Centralized Application Service (CSDCAS). Both require a fee for application. Applications are due January 15, 2010.
MSU's Graduate School requires an application fee of $50.00 and specification that the applicant is seeking admission to the Department of Communicative Sciences and Disorders (CSD Major Code: 1453). Graduate Record Examination Scores (GRE) scores must be submitted to Michigan State University (Code: 1465). International applicants must also submit TOEFL, TWE and SPEAK scores to Michigan State University (Code: 1465).
Equivalency Sheet/Courses Completed in the Major: A Course Equivalency Form listing prerequisite undergraduate courses in Communicative Sciences and Disorders is also required. Please complete this form and return it directly to the department prior to January 15th. Indicate all of the courses in the major, or the equivalent courses completed. Also report the number of credits for each course taken and the grade received. Applicants may find a pdf listing of course descriptions below or may access the MSU's Registrar's site for this information.
Additionally, applicants must apply directly to the Communication Sciences and Disorders Centralized Application Service. CSDCAS charges $100.00 for the first program application and $45.00 for each additional program. Applicants are encouraged to visit the FAQ's for additional information on the CSDCAS application process. Applications to CSDCAS will include:
• A personal essay outlining relevant background information, including career goals, advanced training, specialty areas of interest, and reasons for selecting MSU's program.
• Official transcripts from each institution of higher education attended
• Report of GRE scores
• 3 letters of recommendation
