Communicative Sciences and Disorders Student Organizations

O.L.A. (Organización de Logopedia y Audiologia)

OLA is an undergraduate student organization for CSD majors with an interest in the Spanish language.  There is no proficiency requirement, nor do members need to be taking Spanish courses.  Our organization was designed to promote a more culturally accepting attitude within the field of CSD.  Also, members are encouraged to make the most of bilingual skills within CSD applications. Along with providing resources to members about how to apply their knowledge in a beneficial manner, we provide volunteer opportunities that involve working with Spanish natives.

University Student Advisory Committee (USAC)

The Undergraduate Student Advisory Committee (USAC) is part of the CSD Department system of goverance. Members of the committee are elected by CSD majors each April. The students advise the faculty on matters related to the undergraduate program (e.g., changes in the curriculum), organize workshops on topics of interest to undergraduate majors (e.g., How to Apply to Graduate School), and help classmates identify service opportunities (e.g., participation in MSU's Teddy Bear Picnic).
